"Gandoosh is used in ayurvedic medicine to clean the blood and detox the body. As an additional benefit it will strengthen the teeth in the< gums and may even make them whiter. It is also a good exercise for strengthening the jaw. The oil must NEVER be swallowed. Gandoosh involves taking one tablespoon of oil (sunflower or untoasted sesame will do) and swilling it between the teeth, as you would with a mouthwash, for up to 20 minutes. It is best done first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Once you have swilled for 20 minutes the oil will have turned a milky consistancy - this must be spat out as it will hold all the toxins. Never swallow the oil, always spit it out and rinse your mouth thoroughly using warm water and sea salt. Then clean your teeth and also clean your toothbrush thoroughly after use. Benefits of Gandoosh - you should see a general improvement in health. Your mouth and teeth should feel cleaner and your tongue will be free from fur. It has also been said that Gandoosh can help with skin problems, menstrual problems and constipation.
